The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jonathan Nickner can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Jonathan Nickner

Jonathan Nickner

The family announces with profound regret his sudden passing on Saturday January 23, 2021 at the age of 41. Dear son of Jacques Nickner and the late Laurette Nickner (2016). Cherished brother of Nadine Nickner (Harald Finkler) of Ottawa and Frédéric Nickner (Kim Génier) of Burlington; loving uncle of Arthur (godson), Edgar and Alcid Nickner.

He is survived by his aunts and uncles Hélène Cloutier (late Denis) of Earlton, Georgette Harvey (late Henri) of Kirkland Lake, Lise Cloutier (late Léopold) of Earlton, Yolande Gauthier (late Ernest) of Earlton, André Cloutier (late Michel Cunningham) of Elizabethtown, Gertrude and Gabriel Côté of Ottawa, Myra and Patrick Sloan of Pembroke and Françoise and Thomas Lafond of Scarborough, as well as Gérard and Linda Nickner (godparents) of Hanmer and Jeannine and Aimé Beaudoin of Milton.

Jonathan was such a kind, caring and generous person who saw the best in everyone. He was truly an incredible person whose unexpected passing will be felt by all whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the community of Timmins as well as the clients of his landscaping company for their prolonged support since 1992.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. As these unprecedented times of COVID-19 restrict any appropriate funeral service, a memorial service will be held in the spring where his cremated remains will be laid to rest close to his beloved mother. The family would appreciate remembrance donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association – Cochrane Timiskaming.
