La famille annonce avec grande tristesse son décès le lundi 23 avril 2018 à l’Hôpital de Timmins et du district à l’âge de 55 ans. Prédécédé par son père Willie Chénier (1978). Il laisse dans le deuil sa mère Florence Chénier, sa sœur et ses frères Jean Chénier (Diane), Claude Chénier (Glenna), Lucie Roy (Gaetan), Augustin Chénier (Irène), et Denis Chénier (Carole), ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux, cousins et cousines. Prédécédé par ses grand-parents Hilaire et Odila Rousson et Joseph et Marie Chénier. Hilaire avait une passion envers le sport la lutte. Il avait grand plaisir à encourager ses lutteurs préférés The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, André the Giant, et de plusieurs autres. La famille désire remercier Simone Giroux l’accompagnatrice spéciale à Hilaire, Dr. Sudhama Vaithilingam, ainsi que toute l’équipe à Extendicare qui ont pris soin de lui. De plus, un merci bien spécial à Dr. Nancy Woods et l’équipe à la salle d’urgence de l’Hôpital de Timmins et du district pour leurs excellents soins. La messe des funérailles aura lieu le vendredi 27 avril 2018 à 11h à l’église Notre Dame de la Paix. L’inhumation suivra au Cimetière mémorial de Timmins. La famille recevra les condoléances jeudi de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h à la Maison funéraire Lessard-Stephens. Les dons commémoratifs à Canadian Down Syndrome Society seront grandement appréciés.

He will be sadly missed by his mother Florence Chénier, his sisters and his brothers Jean Chénier (Diane), Claude Chénier (Glenna), Lucie Roy (Gaetan), Augustin Chénier (Irène), and Denis Chénier (Carole), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents Hilaire and Odila Rousson, Joseph and Marie Chénier. Hilaire’s life passion was the sport of wrestling where he encouraged his favourites: The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, André the Giant, and many others. The family wishes to thank Hilaire’s special needs worker Simone Giroux, Dr. Sudhama Vaithilingam, as well as the staff members who took care of him at Extendicare. A special thank you to Dr. Nancy Woods and the staff of the Emergency Department at the Timmins and District Hospital for their excellent care. A funeral mass will be held on Friday April 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame de la Paix church. Interment will follow at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Down Syndrome Society would be greatly appreciated.
