Obituary for Roland Moncion

Roland Moncion
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Roland Moncion on Saturday February 24, 2018 at the Golden Manor at the age of 88 years. Roland was a miner, jack of all trades, hunter, fisherman, golfer and an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. He cherished his wife of 66 years Jeanne Moncion (née Renaud)
He was a devoted father to his two daughters Carole St. Denis (Bernie) of Sarnia and Louise Moncion of Timmins. He taught them the meaning of family, courage and perseverance. His pride and joy were his grandchildren Melissa St. Denis (David), Jason St. Denis (Sari), Roch Boisvert and Jason Boisvert (Jessica); his great-grandchildren Leyton and Bryce Boisvert. He is also survived by his sister Jeannine Palmer of Elliot Lake and his sister-in-law Shirley Moncion of South Porcupine. He was predeceased by his brother Réal Moncion and his sister Cécile Fournier (late Omer). Rolly held a special place in his heart for his nephew Ray Renaud (Réanne) and their children Marc (Kathryn) and Daniel (Michelle). The McIntyre Miner met his angels on West 2 of the Golden Manor. We are very thankful for their care and compassion. He has joined the Old Stove Club and is now enjoying his hockey games while sipping his royal coffee. A celebration of his life will be held from 1-3 pm on Monday February 26, 2018 at the LESSARD-STEPHENS RECEPTION CENTRE.
Remembrance donations to the Golden Manor-Family Council would be greatly appreciated.
