With sorrow in our hearts, we regret to announce Jacques’ sudden passing on August 1st, 2018, at his precious haven at Lac Gauthier in Val Gagné at the age of 57 years. He is survived by his loving spouse, Julie Gélinas, his son Jacques of Sault Ste-Marie, his daughter Gabrielle Paul (Ryan) of Sudbury. He also leaves behind his loving parents, Jack and Alice Loranger, his sister Lorraine Presley (Leonard) their children Justin, Nicholas (Katrina Généreux), Alexandre (Brittany McWilliam) and his brother Daniel Loranger (Lisa Beaudet) and his son Ryan. He will be dearly missed by his step-children that he immediately adopted as his own Caroline Duguay (Becky Deforge), their children, Ivy and Jacob, David Duguay (Kalita Robichaud) and their son, Jack’s only grandson Brantley. He also leaves behind the family of Julie, her parents Nil et Raymonde Gauthier de St-Bruno de Guigues, her sisters and brother, Josée Gélinas (predeceased by her husband Fernand Gratton), their children, Joël, Benoît and Marc Gratton from Notre Dame du Nord, Levis Gélinas (Denise Brassard), their children Vincent, Nina, Alex and Anthony Gélinas of Temiscamingue and Nadia Gauthier (Marc Gauthier) and their daughter Kariane Lafleur of St-Bruno de Guigues He will also be missed by the mother of his children Denise Loranger and her family. He was loved by many other nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Jacques was a tender and thoughtful loving man to everyone he encountered on his path. He had the ability to lighten any room with his warmth and humour. He loved to spend time at his cottage where he was one with nature, the lake, and a nice camp fire; always with the people that he loved the most, and especially Julie. Jack worked very hard for nearly 40 years at Kidd Creek Mines to provide for his loved ones; especially his children so that they may enjoy every opportunity that came their way. He would give generously to everyone while forgetting about himself. No one will ever forget the lovely and often funny stories and memories that came out of his May Run weekends with his brothers, Sons of Abitibi (as he so affectionately coined the group). Jack loved to celebrate and share his joy of life especially with a cold one. Jack left us too soon, but he will never be forgotten. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Saint-Joseph Church. Interment will take place at Watabeag Cemetery in Matheson. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. Remembrance donations made to Project Love would be greatly appreciated.

C’est avec beaucoup de tristesse, que la famille annonce le décès soudain de Jacques, le 1er août, 2018 à l’âge de 57 ans. Il était à son paradis sur terre au Lac Gauthier à Val Gagné. Entouré d’amour, il laisse dans le deuil sa conjointe bien-aimée, Julie Gélinas, ses enfants Jacques de Sault-Ste-Marie et sa fille Gabrielle Paul (Ryan) de Sudbury. Il laisse derrière ses parents adorés, Jack et Alice Loranger, sa sœur Lorraine Presley (Leonard), leurs enfants, Justin, Nicholas (Katrina Généreux), Alexandre (Brittany McWilliam), son frère Daniel Loranger (Lisa Beaudet) et son fils Ryan. Il sera manqué par les enfants de sa conjointe Julie qu’il avait adopté inconditionnellement, Caroline Duguay (Becky Deforge), leurs enfants Ivy et Jacob, David Duguay (Kalita Robichaud), leur fils Brantley seul petit-fils de Jacques, les parents de Julie, Nil et Raymonde Gauthier de St-Bruno de Guigues, sa sœur Josée Gélinas (feu Fernand Gratton), leurs enfants Joël, Benoît et Marc Gratton de Notre Dame du Nord, Levis Gélinas (Denise Brassard), leurs enfants Vincent, Nina, Alex et Anthony Gélinas de Temiscamingue et Nadia Gauthier (Marc Gauthier) et leur fille Kariane Lafleur de St-Bruno de Guigues. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil, la mère de ses enfants Denise Loranger de Timmins et de sa famille. Il était bien aimé par plusieurs autres neveux, nièces, oncles, tantes, cousins et cousines.
Jacques était un homme de famille, de tendresse, d’attention et d’amour pour chacun et chacune qui le côtoyaient. Il avait le don de faire rire tout le monde surtout avec son accueil chaleureux. Il adorait passer du temps à son chalet parmi la nature, l’eau, un bon feu de camp et cela, toujours avec les personnes qu’il aimait, surtout avec sa bien-aimée Julie. Jacques a travaillé très fort pendant près de 40 ans à la mine Kidd Creek afin d’assurer que sa famille, et surtout ses enfants puissent jouir de la vie. Ils donnaient généreusement à tous ce dont ils avaient de besoin, souvent en s’oubliant lui-même. Jamais nous oublierons les belles histoires drôles suite aux fins de semaine annuelles du « May Run » avec ses «frères», le groupe qu’il a surnommé affectueusement, Sons of Abitibi. Jacques aimait fêter et partager sa joie de vivre avec tous, et cela avec une bonne bière froide. Jacques est parti beaucoup trop tôt, mais il ne sera jamais oublié. La messe des funérailles aura lieu le mardi 7 août 2018 à 11h à l’église Saint-Joseph. L’inhumation aura lieu au cimetière Watabeag à Matheson. La famille recevra les condoléances le lundi 6 août 2018 de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h à la Maison funéraire LESSARD-STEPHENS.
