Obituary for Harry Popovich

With sorrow in our hearts, we regret to announce Harry’s sudden passing on July 4th, 2018, at his residence in Timmins at the age of 63 years. He is survived by his son, Dave Vickers (wife Joyce), his sister Christine Hill (Brian), and his brothers Nick (wife Lize) and Mark (wife Lorraine). He also leaves behind one grandson, Aiden, as well as a niece and several nephews. Predeceased by his brother Garry (1971) and his parents Mike (2007) and Yvette (2003).
Harry was a life-long resident of Timmins and was very active in sports around the area, especially in golfing at the Spruce Needles and Hollinger golf courses. His reputation as a hard-working welder was widespread and he was sought out by many local businesses that appreciated his workmanship and expertise. Throughout his entire life, he displayed a unique combination of positive energy fused with overwhelming wit, humor and kindness that will be missed by so many; he was the bad boy with a big heart. Cremation has taken place and was entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. Remembrance donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Jubilee Centre would be greatly appreciated. Family and friends will meet at a future date to celebrate Harry’s life.
