Christina Barker
Alice was my piano teacher way back in the 60’s. I personally don’t think I ever had much talent but she always made me feel as if I did. I think that she must have been very exasperated with me as I rarely practiced my scales or did my finger exercises but went directly to practicing my favourite music pieces.
Alice was my godmother. I have kept in touch with her over the years and we always had very pleasant coffee gab sessions together whenever I was visiting Timmins as well as many enjoyable phone conversations from my home in Edmonton. When my husband passed away in 2016, she provided me with a lot of understanding and moral support. She had a remarkable intelligence and a wonderful sense of humor. I will always remember her trademark laugh and I will miss her!
