La famille annonce avec regret son décès à la maison le dimanche 4 février 2018 à l’âge de 85 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Sylvia St-Jean (née Stanutz), ses enfants Paul St-Jean (Marie), feue Marguerite St-Jean, Jean St-Jean (Laura) et Anne Viel (Yvon), ses petits-enfants Corey St-Jean (Mimi), Perry St-Jean (Myriame), Mélanie Viel (Stéphane), Joël Viel (Isabelle), Sonia Viel, Pascal Viel, Jason Lajeunesse (Sarah) et Natalie Lajeunesse; ses arrière-petits-enfants Katia, Mila, Cédric et Alex; sa soeur Irène Boileau, son frère Hector St-Jean (Gilberte), ses belles-soeurs Olga St-Jean, Sheila Bédard (Yvan) et Eleanor Stanutz; sa tante Margaret Spencer ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux. Il fut prédécédé par sa soeur Gisèle Chartier, ses frères André et Lauré St-Jean, ses belles-sœurs Denise St-Jean et Doris Gauthier, ses beaux-frères Alcide Chartier, René Boileau, Spencer Stanutz et Peter Gauthier. Arthur était un membre à vie du Conseil #6808 des Chevaliers de Colomb Timmins, un conseiller scolaire avec le Conseil scolaire des écoles séparées; un défenseur pour l’éducation, les sports et le culturel au niveau de la ville de Timmins, membre du Cercle des Alouettes, du club Porcupine Rod and Gun, du Centre Culturel Laronde et de l’exécutif du Porcupine Miner Memorial. Il était passionné du ballon-balais comme joueur et organisateur de la ligue pour les femmes et les hommes. La messe des funérailles aura lieu mercredi 7 février 2018 à midi à l’Église Notre-dame-de-la-paix. L’inhumation des cendres suivra au Cimetière mémorial de Timmins. La famille recevra parents et amis mercredi entre 10h et 11h45 à la Maison funéraire LESSARD-STEPHENS.
Des dons commémoratifs à Extendicare Timmins seront grandement appréciés.


The family announces with great sorrow his death at home on Sunday February 4, 2018 at the age of 85 years. Loving husband to Sylvia St-Jean (née Stanutz), cherished father to Paul St-Jean (Marie), late Marguerite St-Jean, Jean St-Jean (Laura) and Anne Viel (Yvon), beloved grandfather to Corey St-Jean (Mimi), Perry St-Jean (Myriame), Mélanie Viel (Stéphane), Joël Viel (Isabelle), Sonia Viel, Pascal Viel, Jason Lajeunesse (Sarah) and Natalie Lajeunesse; dear great-grandfather to Katia, Mila, Cédric and Alex. He is also survived by his sister Irène Boileau, his brother Hector St-Jean (Gilberte), his sisters-in-law Olga St-Jean, Sheila Bédard (Yvan) and Eleanor Stanutz; his aunt Margaret Spencer and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Gisèle Chartier, his brothers André and Lauré St-Jean, his sisters-in-law Denise St-Jean and Doris Gauthier, his brothers-in-law Alcide Chartier, René Boileau, Spencer Stanutz and Peter Gauthier. Arthur was a lifetime member of the Chevaliers de Colomb Conseil #6808 Timmins and a longtime school board trustee with the Roman Catholic Separate School Board. He was a strong advocate for education, sports and cultural within the community of Timmins. He was a member of the Cercle des Alouettes, The Porcupine Rod and Gun Club, member of the executive of the Porcupine Miner Memorial and a member of the Centre Culturel Laronde. He was an avid broomball player and organizer of the men and women’s league. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 7, 2018 at noon at Notre-dame-de-la-paix Church. Inurement will follow at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 10 am to 11:45 am at
LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME.
