Marguerite  Major (Whissell)
The family announces with sorrow her passing at the Golden Manor on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband Lionel Major in 1984, by her sons André Major in 2000, Marcel Major in 2003, Raymond Major in 2004 and by her great-grandson Hunter Major in 2015.
Loving mother of Françoise Walsh and Armand Major (Alice).
Dear grandmother of Marc Major, Marc Malette, Shane Major (Jen), Curtis Major (Kereen), Raymond Walsh (Adrianna), Shelley Gauthier (Eric), Alain Major (Jackie) and Chantal Brunet (Rick).
Great-grandmother of Roxy, Nicholas, Joshua, Alec, Charlie-Rose (Zachary), Kyle, Carson and Madison.
Great-great-grandmother of Oliver and A.J.
She is survived by her sister Thérèse Levasseur, sister-in-law Cécile Whissell and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Jean-Rémi and Philip Whissell and by her sister Estelle Roy.
Marguerite was a longtime member of the Dames St-Dominique and worked as a nursing assistant for 25 years at St-Mary’s Hospital.
The family will receive friends at Paroisse St-Dominique on Saturday January 27, 2018 from 11 am followed by
a memorial service at 12 pm (noon). Interment of her cremated remains will be held in the spring.
Remembrance donations made to the Golden Manor or to the Paroisse St-Dominique will be greatly appreciated. Funeral and cremation services have been entrusted to Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home.
