Obituary for Gaetan Durocher
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gaetan Durocher at the Timmins and District Hospital on Friday, November 24th, 2017. Gaetan was surrounded by close friends and family and in the thoughts of all those who couldn’t be there. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Sue Durocher and his parents Elias Durocher and Simone Durocher (nee Frappier). Loving father of Marc Durocher (Christina Geddes), Paul Durocher, and Alex Durocher (Kaileigh Russell), he is also survived by his brothers Jean-Paul (Penny), Marcel (Fleurette), Dennis, and Guy. Gaetan will be dearly missed by his best friend and cousin Claude Mathé (Gayle), Laurette Durocher, as well as many sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Yates and the nursing staff at Timmins and District Hospital for their amazing compassion and care, in addition to Dr. Paquette, his physician of 30 years.
Gaetan worked in a variety of roles at Kidd Creek, from long-hole blasting to security before his retirement. He will be remembered for his love of wine and good food, swimming at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex and watching Star Trek.
A funeral service will take place on Monday December 4th, 2017 at 11 A.M. at St Anthony’s Cathedral. Family will accept friends and family on Sunday December 3, 2017 at 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the
