Obituary for
Elizabeth "Betty" Ethier
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces her passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Friday October 20, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Aimé Ethier. Devoted mother of David Ethier (Cindy) of Foleyet. Cherished grandmother of Jeniffer Ethier-Pilon (Chris) of Timmins & Tammy Ethier of Chelmsford; loving great-grandmother of Alexa, Bret, Darrin & Kayden. Dear sister of Jane Armstrong (Arland) of Foleyet. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents George & Lil Dingee, her brothers George & Sam and by her sister Nance. Born a trapper’s daughter, Betty lived her 86 plus wonderful years at Grounhog Lake. She spent her time doing all the things she loved in the outdoors. Her stories and historic knowledge of the area will be sadly missed by all that knew her. At this time, the family would like to thank Dr. DiTullio, Dr. Houston, Dr. Paquette & Dr. Patel for their kind and compassionate care. Thank you to the nursing staff at the Timmins and District Hospital and the Timmins Hospice Centre for the compassion and kindness shown while caring for Betty.
Also, we the family would like to take the opportunity to express our sincere and deepest gratitude to Dr. Larry Malo and Dr. Nancy Woods for all their care and advice during this difficult time, as well as over the years we have known each other. You are both amazing people; thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Respecting her wishes, there will be no service or visitation. A private interment will take place.
Cremation services have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home.
For those who wish to make a donation in Betty’s memory, remembrance donation made to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation – Hospice Centre would be appreciated.
