Obituary for Jo-Anne Woodward
Although we search for different words, we cannot escape the sorrow we feel with the passing of Jo-Anne on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at her home in Timmins, with her family at her side. She was the matriarch of our family who did so much and asked for so little, both in life and throughout her battle with ALS these past 4 years. Although Jo-Anne loved the excitement of the family business, her main calling in life was always her concern for every family member. Jo-Anne leaves in her passing a gap virtually impossible to fill. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her passions in later life included Arizona and her pouch (Rotti) who lives were also entwined. She will be missed by family, friends and all those who knew her. Beloved wife of 48 years to Ross Woodward. Loving mother to daughter Sharon Michaud (husband Sylvain) and Paul Woodward (wife Cherie Deschamps). Dear grandmother of Austin Plouffe (Natalie), Ashley Michaud, Sebastien Michaud, Keanna, Kadyn and Kalden Woodward. Also survived by her brother Douglas McCormack of Winnipeg, her cousins Linda Moore of Oshawa and Richard McCormack of Chillawack B.C. Predeceased by her parents John and Muriel McCormack. It cannot be overstated that the in-home health care overseen by Chantal Crescenzi (R.P.N.) and her right hand assistant Renée Allaire (R.P.N.) and their team of notable others, Ashley Gagnon, Marissa Stringer and Jenna Machell was exemplary, and provided Jo-Anne and our family a truly caring relationship that will allow us to think of them as family never to be forgotten in our lifetime. The assistance and efforts provided by CCAC through Marnie Chisolm and Liz Feldman brought a personalized sensitive touch to Jo-Anne and the family during the toughest of moments. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa at 1000 Norman Street on Wednesday July 5, 2017 from 6 p.m. until we shutter down. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home.
