The family announces with sorrow his death on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at the Golden Manor at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife Maria Cristina O’Neill, his children Hugh O’Neill (Sherry) of Kamiskotia Lake, Michael O’Neill (Chantal), Elizabeth O’Neill and Patricia O’Neill, all of Timmins. Dear grandfather of Sean O’Neill, Meagan O’Neill, J.D. Smela, Jamie Smela, Lindsay James, and Kelsey and Lindsey Walsh.
Predeceased by his parents Hugh J. O’Neill and Isabelle Stirling. He will be fondly remembered as a well-respected businessman and a generous philanthropist in our community. He was past president the Rotary Club and very dedicated to serving a variety of causes.
The family would like to thank Dr. Julie Auger and Debbie Cooper for their wonderful care and professionalism.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday June 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church (Location of service has changed). Interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at
