He leaves behind his wife of 50 years Wanda (nee Makuch); daughter Paula Tremblay (Garth) of Thunder Bay; his son Brian Perreault (Dana) of Timmins and grandchildren Jarek and Keegan Tremblay and Katelyn Perreault who knew him as Papa. Born and raised in Timmins, Gilles enjoyed the outdoors. He would spend countless hours with a fishing rod in his hand and sometimes a fish would be on the end of it. He was always busy building, fixing or puttering. As well, Gilles was ready for a card game or a good shuffle board game at any time. His friends in Florida still talk about his good luck. His favorite place was hanging out at the "cottage " which he built after his retirement from Ontario Northland.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Bayshore and the Timmins and District Hospital for their care and compassion.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday May 1st, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Cathedral. Cremation will follow.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at
