With deep sorrow, the family announces her passing after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, at the Timmins and District Hospital on Monday April 24, 2017 at the age of 78.
Gay leaves behind her husband and soulmate Len, her daughters Cheryl and Shelley, her grandsons Brandan and Nikolas, all of Timmins.
Predeceased by her parents Lillian Shaw and Frank Hines and by her nephew Brian Daly.
Survived by her sister Carol Smith (Ralph) and their children of Chelmsford, her nieces and nephews Glenn Daigle (Teresa), their children Matthew and Christopher, Chris Daly and her children Cory Daly and Leigh Erin Presseau (Justin).
Special thanks to all the nurses in the palliative care unit (our Chrissy), Johnna, Jessica, Shelley, as well as the nurses on Medical A and Lise, her caregivers Rosanna Furletti and Lise, Carmelina Blanchette, and a special thanks to Dr. Julie Auger for all your care to (Our Gay).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 11:30 am in the Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will follow in the Lessard-Stephens Reception Centre. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 29, 2017 from 10:30 am – 11:30 am at the Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home
