Obituary for Rod Villeneuve

Rod Villeneuve
It is with sadness that the family announces his death on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at home, after a long and courageous battle to cancer. He will be greatly missed by his wife Andréa and children Kristine and Anthony. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Brian, Greg, Charlene Horsman (Brian), Jill Porteous (Glen, deceased), Bruce (Sabine), Mark (Rosa), Lorraine (Alec), Karen (Andy), Kim Rennick, Holly Clout, and John (Sue). He will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Pre-deceased by his parents Leo (1999) and Claire (1988). Rod was a member of the Cadet Instructor Cadre for over 32 years with 1884 Timmins Legion Army Cadet Corps and previously with 104 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Brilliant in North Bay. As well, he was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus, Assembly #12859 and an ordinary member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 88. Rod also loved volunteering at the Early Years Centre. Special thanks everyone at CCAC, Bayshore Nurses, and TDH Emergency and Oncology Departments. We are eternally grateful for all the prayers and support received since the beginning of his illness. Funeral service will be held on Friday April 21, 2017 at 11am at St-Anthony’s Cathedral. Interment will follow at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. Remembrance donations to St-Anthony’s Cathedral Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated.
