Obituary for Donald Perry

Donald  Perry
Passed away unexpectedly, with his loving family by his side, at the Timmins and District Hospital on Monday March 6, 2017, at the age of 84
Beloved husband of Leitha Perry (nee Ruttan).
Loving father of the late Derrick Perry (Jan. 1967), Wayne Perry (Jennifer) of Timmins, Kevin Perry of Nanaimo, BC and Kimberly Doyle (David) of North Port, Florida.
Dear grandfather of MacKenzie and Hailey.
He is survived by his sister Betty McInall of New Liskeard.
Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Verna Perry and by his sister Shirley Perry.
Don was born and raised in New Liskeard and started a career as a Conservation Officer with the MNR in Kirkland Lake where he met his wife of 51 years Leitha Ruttan. After a number of placements they moved and made Timmins their home where they raised their three children. Don was a humble man who was devoted to his family and enjoyed his work. He also played an active role in his church
In his earlier years he loved fishing and hunting. Don also liked to spend time in the outdoors bird watching, riding his bike and golfing. He also had a talent for wood carving.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to say thank you to the doctors and the nursing staff at Timmins and District Hospital for their care and compassion.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 12pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will take place at a later date in Valley View Cemetery in New Liskeard.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10 from 11 am-12pm at
Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home.
Donations made to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
