La famille annonce avec regret son décès le dimanche 19 février 2017, à l'hôpital de Timmins et du district, à l'âge de 90 ans. Prédécédée par son mari Leonard "Shorty" Proulx en 1970, elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Mariette (Roly) Rains d'Iroquois Falls et Gérald (Connie) Proulx d'Edmonton; ses petits-enfants Jean-Paul Rains (Kelly Gillis), Marcel Rains (Victoria Kotab), Danielle Panizzon (Paolo) and Joshua Proulx (Gennifer Reurink); ses arrière-petits-enfants Theo Kotab-Rains et Georgia Panizzon; ses belles-sœurs Rita Fortier d'Ottawa, Jeannine Charron d'Edmonton, Claire Proulx de Kitchener, et son beau-frère Florian Proulx de South Porcupine; ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces pour qui "ma tante Jeanne" était précieuse.
Elle laisse également dans le deuil ses meilleurs amis: Père Alexis, Simone, Cécile, Hélène et Lily. La famille tient à remercier le personnel de la Résidence Georgian pour les bons soins apportés tout au long de son séjour.
Madame Proulx était enseignante pendant plus de 35 années à Iroquois Falls et Timmins. Elle a œuvré comme bénévole avec la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes durant au-delà de vingt ans dans le décor de l'église, la formation au baptême ainsi que dans divers comités. Elle a été nommée bénévole de l'année pour la Journée internationale de la femme à Timmins en 2008.
La messe des funérailles aura lieu le mercredi 22 février 2017 à 10 h 30 à la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix. La famille recevra vos condoléances mardi de 14 h à 16 h et de 19 h à 21 h à la

It is with great sadness that the family announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Timmins and District Hospital, at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband Leonard "Shorty" Proulx in 1970, she leaves to mourn her children Mariette (Roly) Rains of Iroquois Falls and Gérald (Connie) Proulx of Edmonton; her grandchildren Jean-Paul Rains (Kelly Gillis), Marcel Rains (Victoria Kotab), Danielle Panizzon (Paolo) and Joshua Proulx (Gennifer Reurink); her great-grandchildren Theo Kotab-Rains and Georgia Panizzon; her sisters-in-law Rita Fortier of Ottawa, Jeannine Charron of Edmonton, Claire Proulx of Kitchener, and her brother-in-law Florian Proulx of South Porcupine. She will be fondly remembered by several nephews and nieces for whom "ma tante Jeanne" was precious.
She also leaves to mourn her best friends: Father Alexis, Simone, Cécile, Hélène and Lily. The family would like to thank the Georgian Residence staff for the good care throughout her stay.
Mrs. Proulx was a teacher for more than 35 years in Iroquois Falls and Timmins. For more than twenty years, she worked as a volunteer at the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Parish decorating the church, leading preparations for baptism and participating in various other committees. She was named Volunteer of the Year on International Women’s Day in Timmins in 2008.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10:30am at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm at the
