Obituary for Gerard Charbonneau

Gerard Charbonneau
It is with sorrow yet a deep sense of peace that we announce the passing of Gerard at home, on Friday January 6, 2017 at the age of 86. Born and raised in Timmins, Gerry is survived by his loving wife and soul-mate for 61 years, Thérèse (née Rivard). Devoted dad to Donald, of Gatineau Qc. He will be sadly missed by his sister Thérèse Pilon-Doré of Timmins, his brothers Bernard (Beatrice) of St-Eustache, Qc, Denis (Judy) of Hyway Beach, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law June Charbonneau of Mississauga, Juliette Rivard of Sturgeon Falls and Shirley Rivard of Ottawa.
At heaven’s gate, Gerry will be greeted by his parents Alexandre and Marie-Rose, his sister Cecile Perrier-Venn and his brothers Lucien and Fidele (Ted). Gerry was employed by the City of Timmins for 32 years until his retirement in 1991. Active member of Centre culturel LaRonde, Seniors Recreation Center and Seniors Fitness Club, Le Mirage, Gerry lived a full and compassionate life. Among his interests were cooking, travelling and camping. He also loved to dance with his favorite partner Therese. He thoroughly enjoyed his weekly bowling outings and his coffee club buddies. Many thanks to our family doctor S. Cohen for many years of excellent care. A special thank you to Gerry’s nurse practitioner Marnie Chisolm, as well as the CCAC and Vital Air teams. Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 14, 2017 at 12 (Noon) in the funeral home chapel. A reception at the Lessard-Stephens Reception Centre will follow.
