Obituary for Thérèse Marie Louise Whitton (Côté)

Thérèse Marie Louise Whitton (Côté)
Thérèse “Terry” Marie Louise Whitton
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Terry (formally from Elliot Lake) at the Golden Manor on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at the age of 85.
Loving wife of the late Norman Whitton. Dear mother of Mary-Kathleen Warden (Karey) of Welland and Heather Whitton of Elliot Lake. Dear sister of Paul Côté (Juliette) of New Liskeard, Lucien Côté (Annette) of Hawsburg, Frankie Morandin, Marc Côté (Annette), Madelaine McTavish and Jeannine Foran (Ralph) of Timmins. Left to mourn are numerous nieces and nephews from both the Côté and Whitton families and close friends. Predeceased by her parents Omer and Marie Côté, her sister Pierrette Côté, brother-in-law Guido Morandin and her in-laws John and Dorothy Munroe, Jean and Tom Hudson and Margaret Soinenen.
Terry thoroughly enjoyed clogging and needle point. She was an active member in her community of Elliot Lake, helping with the hospital auxiliary and fundraising for the Cancer Society for many years. Family and friends were Terry’s passion and delight. She loved to host and entertain, especially when it came to happy hour at the house. The family would like to thank the staff from the second floor, east wing of the Golden Manor for their care and compassion, as well as Dr. Matheson of Elliot Lake. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 16 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. A celebration of her life will follow in the chapel of LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. Remembrance donations made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Golden Manor or to the Alzheimer society would be greatly appreciated.
A Memorial Service will also be held in Elliot Lake at a later date.
