Obituary for
Elizabeth Hutchison
“Her presence we miss, Her memory we treasure, Loving her always, Forgetting her never.” On a sunny Monday afternoon Betty passed away peacefully with her dear friends and loved ones by her side. Her natural wit and unmistakable laugh will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her especially her dear friends Colleen and George McIIwaine and their daughter Sherry who’s care and compassion was unwavering to the end. Betty was born in Alva, Scotland to the late John and Jessie Hutchison. She moved to Canada with her family and met her beloved and devoted partner Lauri Pihlaja who she enjoyed a lifetime of happiness with until his passing in 2000. Betty’s only brother passed away many years ago but her life was full with dear friends who became her family. Betty worked all her life and fondly reminisced about her days at Timmins Stationary and Shopper’s Drug Mart. Betty will also be missed by nieces and nephews in Canada and cousins in Scotland especially Agnes. Betty lived her final years at the Golden Manor and the family appreciates the excellent care she was given while living there and would like to thank all the staff for their kindness. At Betty’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. Funeral arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home.
Remembrance donations can be made to The Ontario Lung Association or The Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences or donations can be made at www.lessardstephens.com
“Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end, They simply mean we'll miss you, Until we meet again.”
