Jean Aide (Fortin)
The family announces with sorrow her death on Friday October 2, 2015, from natural causes at the Golden Manor, at the age of 99. Jean is survived by her son Bill (Haide), daughter Beatrice Dugas (Bruno), son James (Maureen) and sister-in-law Marion Fortin (nee Leck); grandchildren Christopher (Wendy), Anya (Stephen), Stephen (Cathy), Shaun (Sunita), Rachel (Jeff), Daniel (Lisa), David (Michelle), Laura (Max), Douglas (Kate) and Darrell (Neria) and 16 great-grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by husband Percy, parents Louis and Beatrice Fortin and brothers Jack and Russell. In her younger years Jean worked as secretary at the Delnite Mine and the Doherty-Roadhouse Stock Exchange and after the War at the Olive Thompson Dress Shoppe. She was an active member of the South Porcupine and Timmins First United Churches, enjoying work with CGIT girls. An avid gardener, she won Horticultural Society prizes for her Peace rose. The family remembers her as a mother and grandmother of constant cheer and loving generosity. Of her many grandchildren she had observed ”They all look good; they all have plans”. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kos and the exceptionally caring and skillful staff of the Golden Manor west wing. Funeral service will be held at the Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel on Monday October 5, 2015 at 2 pm. A reception will follow. Interment will be held at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery.
