Obituary for
Roger M. Ethier
Passed away suddenly at home on December 5, 2013, at the age of 83. Loving husband and wonderful caregiver to Marion (nee Romain), his wife of 61 years. He also leaves behind his daughter Suzanne of Timmins, son Robert (Joy Beaudin) of North Bay, sister-in-law June McGuire (Arnie) of Salt Lake City and brother-in-law Cecil Romain (Rose) of Toronto. He is predeceased by his parents Blanche and Alderic Ethier. Roger worked in the Lumber Industry from the age of 14 until 1978. At that point he became the owner of Hilltop Confectionary which he ran successfully for 19 years. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and rode up until the age of 83. In their golden years, they enjoyed many winters in Florida where they made many friends and became passionate about Shuffleboard. He loved Technology and was the proud owner of an Ipad and as of late, his new Iphone 5S. He was always there for us and will be dearly missed. In these last few years, with a decrease in health, Roger often expressed his gratitude at having a compassionate doctor like Dr. Griffiths, frequently saying “she really looks after me”. Our thanks to Dr. Griffiths for the attentiveness and care she provided to him right up until the end.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 14, 2013 at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. A reception will follow in the Lessard-Stephens Reception Centre. The family will receive friends on Saturday December 14 from 12 pm - 2 pm at Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home.
