Obituary for
Maureen Urquhart
The family announces with great sorrow her death on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Royal Court Retirement Residence in Riverview, New Brunswick at the age of 87. Born in Inverness, Scotland on October 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Pearl and Andrew Fraser.
Prior to and during WWII she worked for the British Postal Service. After 15 years in their employ Maureen, her husband Charlie and their two sons immigrated to Timmins, Ontario. She will be remembered for her many years of service with the F.W. Woolworth and Eddy Office Supply companies on Third Avenue in Timmins. Maureen was also a supporter along with Charlie of the 101 Royal Canadian Sea Cadets “Tiger”, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 88 and Access Better Living Inc.
Maureen was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 2001, son David and infant sons Richard and Ronald.
She is survived by sons Michael, his wife, Brenda (Randall) and their son Evan of Portage Vale, New Brunswick and Andrew, his wife, Madeleine (Leveille) and their children Brian, Sarah and James of Whitby, Ontario.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday September 26, 2008 in the chapel of Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home(705) 268-4488. Interment will follow at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
